I think that Dire's anger (the "bitch slap" comment above) derives from exchanges such as this one:

Not sure...I am an overly sensitive old fart, so I often have trouble assessing a poster's true feelings on any number of subjects; as High Flow notes, the jokes make it even more difficult at times.
However, that's really beside the point; you do this because you love doing it...or at least I assume so...not because you want validation by receiving comments on the product...again, only guessing.
In any case, I think there should be more ugly rumors about Dire; and with those, no amount of air clearing will get the stink out...

My personal taste (killer boards over killer auds). As for my comments, they don't come from ego. As for context, it's the internet, it's real easy to misread someone's intentions over your computer.
I don't do this for any other reason than I enjoy working on the music and it's fun to share. No need for personal attacks. That is the main reason I try to stay away from this site. Too much arguing. I'm a very giving and peaceful person. I don't do all this work for the attention (I'm actually rather shy, believe it or not). I do it because I love to work on killer sounding recordings and I have access to upgrades and I like to share.
I never understood why I get attacked so much for sharing music. Can't we all just get along? I'm not perfect, I'm just as fucked up as the rest of you.

Hey now Charlie.
Sorry to hear your health is suffering.
We corresponded a few years back about hip replacements.
I have had both hips done twice already and now I have learned tht the prosthetics have been recalled and I may be facing more surgery.
If you don't mind me asking is your hip(s) the issue? If so what are you finding is the problem.

Cool; appreciate the "medical difficulties" situation only too well...hope you navigate thru all of that with grace and determination; as clearly evident from all your efforts with the music, you have in abundance...
And yes--pleas for "lets all try to just get along" sometimes fall on deaf ears around here (mine included of course), but good on ya for trying. With every effort along these lines, maybe--just maybe--we move the Forum forward a step or two, eh?

But the most important thing is that we should all still be nice to each other, even if there are no medical difficulties.

Ha--hey D, hope you and all the gals in your life are doing well; been a while since we caught up, but I know with football season upon us, you all are following the DREADED Pats with great interest...as for me, Cards Mge has pulled its usual "play it CHEAP", and having lost a number of good players, besides Warner's retirement (unlike Mr Favre and me, he knows when to call it quits and stick to it, eh?), it doesn't look good for us, even if in the worst division in sports...
Miss Rob round here; I assume you're catching up with him off site now and again, but hoping all is right with him, and that we see him back around this dump in the near future.
It's gotta be better than having the likes of the two of us taking up Forum space, ya know? I am constantly surprised we haven't been banned for approaching 10,000 posts--shouldn't there be a "statute of limitations" of sorts for posters like us? Once you pass that #, you're done? Hmmm, better not let that get out; somebody with half a brain might act on it...

actually, i havent caught up with Rob in awhile. i think i'll email that Scottish SOB this weekend to see what is up.
i think at 10K posts, my mind will simply implode due to idiocy. needless to say, it will be a mightly small implosion (measurable by, say, a planck length)
